AHIP is a nonprofit that delivers critical home repairs and rehabs for households in need in Charlottesville and Albemarle County, Virginia. Our purpose is to keep low-income individuals and their families safe at home and to help them preserve and protect their homes and their wealth. For many of our neighbors, a critical home repair need is more than a nuisance or an unplanned expense, it’s a crisis to be managed: space heaters and extra blankets when the furnace gives out, Xs marked on the rotting floor where the kids should not step. That’s where your support can make all the difference. We deploy a mix of public and private funds into people’s homes, transforming those dollars into necessities and improvements like heat, clean water, and safe structures. Your donation goes to work immediately in helping your neighbors in need by funding these critical projects; emergency repairs cost anywhere from $200-20,000, and rehab projects average $20-100,000. Our goal is to raise $5K from our 5K, and that will help ensure we’re able to help 5 more families stay safe at home.
